Besides being a gathering place for Wethersfield and Greater Hartford, the Webb Deane Stevens Museum is one of Connecticut’s crown jewels and a key place for understanding our nation’s history. Last week we kicked off the planning for America’s 250th anniversary with a visit from former Secretary of State Denise Merrill, who chairs the Connecticut Semiquincentennial Commission. Together with other representatives from the commission, the museum, and the Town of Wethersfield, we made a great start to figuring out what a celebration of American nationhood might look like in 2026!
