An exciting new outreach program focusing on the life of George Washington has been developed for 5th grade students. “George Washington Slept Here” is intended to provide an overview of Washington through the lens of the “myth,” “man,” and “general.” The program was funded by a Great American Treasures Grant from the NSCDA and developed by educator Mary Zambrello and our Associate Director & Director of Visitor Engagement Cynthia Joseph Riccio. Zambrello and Riccio teamed with Roy Stout and his graphic design students at Horace Wilcox Technical School in Meriden to develop and design a lesson program and supplemental printed materials.
